Surprised or Not-Gabbert, Belles, Perkins, Rising FC

Arizona Sports News online

Quick Hits…

-Blaine Gabbert being the Cardinals off-season QB addition. Surprised. “Shocked” is probably the better answer

-Steve Belles not coaching Hamilton football for the 2017 season-Belles has 5 State titles on his resume, yet once the hazing scandal happened, it was pretty clear to me that he was going to be the one that faced the discipline. Belles could return as head coach in 2018, but I believe he is going to have many opportunities other than being back on the Hamilton sidelines. No way he knew what was happening with the hazing, but someone had to take the fall. Not Surprised

-Diamondbacks closer to first place than last in Mid-May-Surprised

-Quarterback Bryce Perkins leaving Arizona State football-Watching Perkins at Chandler high school, it felt like man v boys. A supreme talent. At Arizona State there was no question he stood out on the field, but I always got the vibe that moving him in position was the ultimate end game. Not Surprised

-Major League Soccer closer to reality by the end of 2017-Surprised-NO ONE could’ve predicted six months ago that a “pop-up” stadium would show up along the coveted 101-202 freeway, Didier Drogba would be introduced as a owner/player, new ownership would all be on the same page, in the same lanes putting out a product that would make the MLS get on a plane and come to the Valley. Anyone who says that they saw this coming isn’t being truthful…

-Former UofA hooper Kobi Simmons at the NBA Draft Combine, ” not even thinking about Arizona anymore.”- He shouldn’t be thinking about Arizona, because he can’t go back to Tucson, he certainly cost himself money by being one and done when he wasn’t even out on the floor much late in the season. Not Surprised
