Arizona Sports News onlineDoes it feel like the Suns year? No.

Is there time left to put it all together? Yes.

With 18 games left after Saturday night’s loss to Boston, the Suns are closer to being part of the Play-In game than a top-eight seed. Health has been and continues to be the biggest concern. Any injury to the Big Three, and it’s over. No one can dispute that.  I’m not so concerned with anything other than health.

It’s easy today to say that the Suns are dead. They just need the Big Three and health, and they can make a title run. Very few expect it happen simply because of how the season has gone…

Stunned over how the conversation of Caitlin Clark and her greatness doesn’t include Ann Meyers Drysdale. It’s easy to point to Diana  Taurasi, Cheryl Miller, Lynette Woodard, and Sabrina Ionescu, but why not Meyers Drysdale? Look it up…

Are the clouds about to part at Always Something University? Every college athletic department has issues, but as we’ve seen and heard for several years, the definition of insanity has been the order of the day in Tempe. Perhaps the bottoming out is finally about to happen.

-The NCAA will soon announce the findings of the investigation into the Herm Edwards/Antonio Pierce era of nonsense within the Sun Devil football program. I don’t know if more penalties will be forthcoming, but the term “show cause” will be included in the findings. I won’t be surprised if the website administrator for Arizona State has to adjust the athletic department roster. I won’t be shocked if the number of violations exceeds those allotted for a football roster. It’s taken much longer than it should for various reasons. Kenny Dillingham and his staff have had to live in a world of uncertainty and questions about the size of the hole they are attempting to dig out of. They need all the landmines and “what’s behind door number 4’s” to be removed…

-I thought it was telling that Dr. Michael Crow reached out to noted Pac-12 insider Jon Wilner about why the search for an athletic director is moving at the speed of a snail. Give his advisors a raise to attempt to start the damage control…

Wilner – ASU president Michael Crow on his AD search, strategy for athletics and the general state of the Sun Devils

How many elevators are there within Desert Financial Arena? (This could be construed as a joke). Zero is the correct answer…

From the Wikepdia page on the 50 year old building.

The Eagles played at the facility on October 15, 1976, with the setlist including the first live performance of “Hotel California.”[5][6]

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band performed at the arena on November 5, 1980 during the River Tour. Video and audio of the show were released in 2015 in conjunction with the band’s The Ties That Bind commemorative box set, and their performance of “Badlands” was included on 1986’s Live 1975–85 album.

I’m sure we are going to see/hear about ANOTHER feasibility study on the relic that Bobby Hurley’s team calls “home.” I won’t be surprised if Bobby says “peace out” later this month…

If it’s March and you’re a fan of Arizona Wildcat Basketball, I know this to be true. You will own Las Vegas this week at the Pac-12 tournament. You will be heartbroken and disappointed with another year of not cutting down the nets in April. For the last 26 years, I’ve gotten used to hearing, “Wait till next year,” from those who went to school in Tucson…

Bill Walton and Dave Pasch made  Pac-12 basketball on television fun. They also did more to raise the conference’s profile than anyone else. No one…

Philadelphia’s laying out a combined $300 million to pitchers Aaron Nola and Zach Wheeler this off-season makes me wonder how far Ken Kendrick will go with Zac Gallen(represented by Scott Boras) when his contract expires next season.
