Following the Phoenix Suns parting ways with head coach Frank Vogel, social media was buzzing with opinions on the matter:
It was all Frank Vogel’s fault! No point guard, no rim protection, and a 50m new piece who missed 1/3 of the season like he always does and then CRATERED in the playoffs. Oh and no bench cuz they traded everything for 2 guys. And ran against the best D in 20 years. #blamevogel

1. I personally would’ve given Frank Vogel a second year. They played at a 54-win pace after Christmas, folks. It’s still a really good team.
2. It’s totally understandable why they didn’t, given the urgency of this core and the title window.

With Frank Vogel's dismissal, the Phoenix Suns are about to have their third head coach in three years. Devin Booker will have his seventh in 10 (interim or otherwise).

OK, fire Frank Vogel, but this team is built weird.
How do we fix having no real PG or PF, a center that can't move well, a legend that can't dribble or pass, a foundational star that doesn't want to be a traditional leader, and Bradley Beal's (no offense, love him) contract?

Frank Vogel won a championship less than four years ago and has been fired twice since.
I feel bad for Frank, the coach, who has now twice been scapegoated for front office failures.
But at least Frank, the person, got the bag from Ishbia for one year of work. https://t.co/IMTGM32zwt

Less than two hours later, former Bucks championship head coach (who beat the Suns in 2021) Mike Budenholzer emerged as the top target to take Vogel’s place:
Budenholzer is the Suns’ target and talks are expected to move quickly, sources tell ESPN. He’s been working to assemble a coaching staff for a return to a head coaching job and that process is also gathering momentum, sources said. https://t.co/PSWPi9C6Pr
