Ishmail Wainright just earned a full contract with the Phoenix Suns after playing on a two-way deal since September 21. He is officially on the playoff roster.
His rookie year in the NBA was a long-time coming. He played basketball and football at Baylor before trying out for the Buffalo Bills, playing basketball in Germany and France, making the Summer League roster with the Toronto Raptors, and eventually finding his home in Phoenix.
One cause that means a lot to him is autism awareness. His sister is a teacher for kids on the spectrum and his son is also diagnosed with it.
