Pinnacle TE Dalton Cash Commits to Idaho

National signing day saw over 160 Arizona high school football athletes commit to play at the next level. Among those was Pinnacle High School tight end Dalton Cash.

At Majerle’s Sports Grill, in Phoenix, Cash made the announcement that he is going to be a Vandal and will be playing for the University of Idaho.

Cash had a great visit to the university.

“Just being there as a recruit for two days, I felt like I was already a part of the team,” Cash said.

The tight end was impressed by the facilities and Kibbie Dome, where the Vandals play, and looks forward to attending the University’s business school.

Pinnacle head coach Dana Zupke, stressed Cash’s athleticism and versatility enabled him to transition from the offensive line to the tight end position.

“(He) can put his hand down in the dirt and block,” Zupke said.  “He works hard. Even now, he’s not resting on it. He comes and lifts every day at lunch and has a tremendous work ethic.”

When Cash isn’t hard at work in the gym or on the field, he can be found working on his jeep.

One notable Idaho alumnus is Arizona Cardinals guard Mike Iupati, who was the 17th overall selection in the 2010 draft. Cash joins Desert Edge running back/linebaker Roshaun Johnson in the Vandals’ recruiting class.
