One of the most recent major memories of NASCAR brawls hit the asphalt at Phoenix Raceway in 2019. NASCAR had implemented group qualifying to make sessions more interesting. Interesting was a word that could be used when Monterey, Mexico’s Daniel Suárez confronted Glendale, Arizona’s on pit road where they instantly threw down and brawled on the bustling qualifying grid.
Flash forward seven years later, Suárez and McDowell now find themselves as teammates at Spire Motorsports, battling for wins and to make the renewed Chase for the Championship. As the years went by, their relationship grew and now team up as great friends on the NASCAR grid.
NASCAR storms back to Arizona with a historic doubleheader with INDYCAR at Phoenix Raceway. Catch all the action from the ARCA Menards Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, NTT INDYCAR Seres, and NASCAR Cup Series over four days March 5-8. Get your tickets now at phoenixraceway.com.
