Mercury star wing Kahleah Copper’s efforts on the season have been rewarded.
She replaces an injured Sparks’ Kelsey Plum on Team Coop in the 2026 WNBA All-Star game.
Her second time earning the honor in her time with the Mercury.
All-Star Weekend will be held in Chicago this year, home of her former squad in the Sky, where she earned 2021 WNBA Finals MVP.
Copper’s put up just over 20 points per game to go along with nearly four boards, a pair of assists, and about a steal per contest too.
She’s certainly be carrying her weight for this squad at 14 games with 20+ points. That’s fourth most in the W.
In a season that hasn’t come without it’s challenges for the Mercury, Copper’s All-Star nod is well-deserved.
After today’s win, coincidentally, over the Sparks, Phoenix sits at 10-18 and after the game, Copper expressed the pride she has in the way they played:
“We were locked in,” Copper said. “These are hard games to play. Early…Little bit of pressure, you’re fighting for something. And then a break coming…We did an incredible job of just following the game plan and like AT said, just being locked in defensively.”
WNBA All-Star Weekend takes place this weekend (game on Saturday, July 25 at 5:30 PM [PST]) and the teams led by general managers Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon.
