Arguably the best local story of the 2025 NFL Draft is Tyler Shough.
The New Orleans drafted Shough with the 40th overall pick in the second round.
The 2018 Hamilton alum had a long college career playing for Oregon, Texas Tech and Louisville.
His time at Texas Tech stretched out his collegiate career due to two collar bone injuries and a broken fibula.
In 2025 at Louisville, Shough played in 12 games as a starter, throwing for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns. As the draft process advanced, Shough went flying up draft boards.
At 26 years old, Shough feels ready to play in the league. He doesn’t see his older age as a disadvantge. Look at Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, and Michael Penix from last year’s draft. Extra years in college can benefit a quarterback’s develeopment.
Before the draft, Shough caught up with Brad Cesmat. You can watch here.
Shough joins former Pinnacle star quarterback Spencer Rattler in the New Orleans signal caller room.
