It’s a big week for the Shaffer family.
Shelby Shaffer was just in town for the Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic. She plays for Alabama State and jumped in with both feet to explore that opportunity in this growing sport.
Will Shaffer is looking to take the next step in his career as well. After a standout season at Saguaro High School, he started his college football career at Arizona State. He decided to explore opportunities for more playing time after his sophomore season. He committed to Utah State, only to have a coaching change in his position group.
Football Remains A Part of the Shaffer Family
He then went to Abilene Christian and had an impressive two-year stint where he was an FCS All-American. Now, he’s looking for an opportunity to play the sport professionally, whether that’s as a selection for in this week’s NFL draft or signing on as an undrafted free agent.
Both siblings bet on themselves and took full advantage of the opportunities that came up, a trait that is common within their family.
