The Arizona football spring game is garnering attention all over the state. The on-field performance was intriguing but the homecomings of Rob Gronkowski and Tedy Bruschi stole the show.
Spring games are traditionally played as “team primary color” versus “team secondary color.” However, new Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch is eager to spark buzz around his program. So a matchup between Team Gronk and Team Bruschi was born. Team Gronk won 17-13 on a late defensive stop.
Gronk was busy making waves on social media on Friday after breaking the Guinness World Record for Highest Altitude Catch of an American Football. The ball was dropped from a helicopter 620 feet above the ground.

“I told him I can’t catch a football 600 feet out of a helicopter,” Senior Advisor to the Head Football Coach Tedy Bruschi said. “We both love the Wildcats with all of our hearts. Us coming back, I hope it signals the energy of this program and how we all feel about it as former Wildcats.”
The program is garnering buzz for a multitude of reasons. It starts with energy of Fisch, and extends to the number of new players that are transferring in. To capitalize on that momentum, they hired an outside production company to create hype videos for social media.
Now that spring practices are over, players have the opportunity to decompress before returning in the summer to prepare for the season.
“We let our guys have a lot of fun, but they are putting in the work,” Fisch said. “There’s a lot of reasons to be grateful to be a Wildcat and I hope these guys know that.”
