A young fan went viral after making an outstanding catch at the Diamondbacks vs. Braves game on Friday, and he did it without leaving the comfort of his seat.
At the bottom of the fourth inning, Kole Calhoun was hunting down a ball hit by Austin Riley heading into foul territory. Calhoun wouldn’t be the one to make the grab, instead, it was caught by 13-year-old Cordell McLerran.

McLerran joined Sports 360’s Brad Cesmat from a classroom this morning to reminisce on the exciting moment.
“I’ve been pretty famous and I’ve got about 100 fist-bumps,” McLerran told Cesmat.
The first fist bump came from Kole Calhoun himself followed by many of the fans around him that witnessed the catch. The exchange that happened between McLerran and the Diamondbacks outfielder is one the 13-year-old will never forget.
“At first he went back over to right field and said you caught that one now let me catch the next one,” said McLerran. “He came back over a couple times and we talked like casual friends.”
Since returning to school after the weekend, McLerran has received plenty of attention at school. Classmates were fist-bumping him and jokingly asking for his autograph.
