With a total of 40 state titles under its belt, Xavier College Prep’s girls golf program has had a long history of success, and that hasn’t changed as of late.
Senior standout Alexis Lamadrid, the reigning MaxPreps Arizona female athlete of the year, has played a large part in the Gators’ recent success, winning the individual high school state championship each of the last 2 years while the team has taken home three state titles in a row.
As she closes out her final year with the Gators, Lamadrid has her sights set on becoming the fourth Arizona girl ever to win three individual state titles while leading her team to a fourth straight team championship.
She is currently ranked 24th in the Rolex AJGA rankings, and she won the Mexican Women’s Golf Amateur Championship in 2025 and the AJGA Heather Farr Thunderbird Championship in 2026. She also recently took home the 2026 Curry Cup – the championship event of the Underrated Golf Tour created by NBA superstar Steph Curry.

Lamadrid’s love for golf began when her father introduced her to the sport at a young age. Now, it’s become a potential career for Lamadrid, as she is committed to play Division I golf at the University of Texas next year.
More than anything, Lamadrid is grateful for the support she’s received over the years from family, friends and coaches. She attributes her success so far to those around her.
“Being surrounded by an amazing support system and people who just guide me and want the best for me has really helped me get to this point,” Lamadrid said. “Especially my parents and my coaches. Just having that support system has been so important to me, and from there it was just a matter of time before everything started clicking.”
As she approaches the end of her time with the Gators, Lamadrid aims to go out with a bang. She’s excited for the next chapter in her golf career, but first, she wants one more state title with her Xavier Prep family.
“Being in my last year here, it’s surreal,” Lamadrid said. “These four years have gone by so fast. It’s been amazing to grow since my freshman year and to get another state title with them would be so special.
