Winston Gandy Wants to Build Upon GCU WBB Success as New Head Coach

Winston Gandy has been around some of the most high-profile women’s basketball programs in recent years while coaching at Duke and South Carolina.

The resumé and relationships he has developed while recruiting the nation’s best were just two reasons he stood out when the Lopes were looking to replace Molly Miller, who is now the head coach of Arizona State

Gandy is staying with the Gamecocks until their March Madness run ends and will be building his coaching staff and roster for the Lopes simultaneously.

The Lopes are coming off a 32-2 season where they won their first WAC title and made their first NCAA tournament appearance. GCU will see quite a bit of roster turnover as last year’s squad featured nine players who no longer have eligibility.
