Wildcats Crush Lumberjacks

Northern Arizona was the bug, Arizona was the windshield on Saturday night. The Wildcats ran over, through, and around the Lumberjacks 62-24. The Wildcats rolled up 506 yards on the ground and were never really threatened by their in-state opponents to the north.

Quarterback Brandon Dawkins led the way with 92 yards and two scores.

Backup quarterback Khalil Tate was injured during the game, head coach Rich Rodriguez didn’t sound too concerned afterwards “Khalil got a little banged up because he likes to try to run over people, and that’s not a good idea when you’re a quarterback.”

Up next for the Wildcats, the University of Houston led by former Desert Mountain High School quarterback Kyle Allen. A much greater challenge for Rodriguez and his players. “We have a lot of teaching and learning to do in the next 2-3 days. I think our guys are conscientious enough to do that. We’ve got a really good football team coming in, so we’ve got to get better in a hurry.”
