The recruiting season is in full swing with college coaches now being able to go on-campus and check out some of the state’s top talent.
It’s also visiting season where recruits on going on unofficial and official vists seemingly every weekend.
Some notable visits this week are Kelee Ringo heading to Georgia and Tosh Baker going to UCLA.
A couple receivers are also on the move…
Hamilton’s Brenden Rice Heading to Oregon
Hamilton wide receiver Brenden Rice will be in attendance for Oregon’s spring game, checking out his former quarterback Tyler Shough and seeing how he could fit into the Ducks system. He talks about the Ducks program and what it would mean to potentially reunite with his old quarterback.
Higley defensive end Jason Harris, Desert Edge defensive back Stephen Ortiz Jr. and Hamilton wide receiver Brady Shough will also be in Oregon this weekend.
Cow-Polk?
Saguaro wide receiver Matt Polk will check out Oklahoma State on an official visit, a little over a month after attending the Cowboys’ junior day.
The likes of UCLA, Tennessee, Cal, Purdue, Air Force, Arizona and Florida are also in pursuit of the wide receiver, but Oklahoma State has been on Polk’s eye since he was a child. His father, Raymond Polk, played for Oklahoma State, and the program holds a special place for the enitre Polk family.

Purdy Gets Devils
The ASU coaching staff made Perry quarterback Chubba Purdy a priority early in this spring session by heading to a Puma practice and shortly offering him after watching him throw.

“I was really excited. I love (ASU offensive coordinator Rob Likens) and Herm Edwards, those two are great together,” Purdy said.
“Coach Likens said I would fit right into his offense and he really loved my personality and he said he’s trying to find a quarterback that he would love to spend time with every day because I would be with him all the time and he said I have all the factors to be a quarterback at ASU.”
Purdy also holds offers from UNLV, NAU, Yale, Toledo, Dartmouth, Colorado, Bowling Green, Louisville, Kansas State, Kansas, Pitt, and UCF.
He said he plans on being patient and seeing how the spring plays out before planning visits and setting a timeline for his recruitment.
Black Hawk Gets A Buckeye Offer
Noah Nelson has been busy this spring heading to Michigan twice and will do the same with the Oklahoma Sooners in a few weeks. Another Big Ten power has thrown their hat into the ring for Nelson in Ohio State, who offered the Williams Field offensive tackle on Thursday.
“The offer is very exciting because they are such a powerhouse team who has repeatedly won the Big Ten, and I am excited to learn more about there program,” Nelson said.

He said Nelson and the coaching staff have talked about potentially having him visit in late June.
