While Warren Washington has not been in Tempe long, he’s made a big (literally and figuratively) impact.
The 7-foot center will now test the NBA waters by declaring for the NBA Draft. He has maintained his eligibility and has the option to return to college.
“I’ve been chasing this basketball dream ever since i can remember,” Washigton said in a statement. “My collegiate career has me to several places, and I’m grateful to all college staffs that have put time and energy into developing me as a player and person.”
Washington started his college career with Oregon State before transferring to Nevada for three total seasons, one of which was a redshirt year. He transferred to Arizona State ahead of this past season and averaged 9.2 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.8 blocks.
“Specifically, I’d like to thank Coach Hurley for giving me the opportunity to come back to the Pac-12 and prove I can play at the highest level. I’d also like to give a special thanks to my family and friends for their support throughout my journey.”
The Sun Devils have seen a lot of change in their roster composition this offseason. Enoch Boakye, D.J Horne and Austin Nunez have entered and remain in the transfer portal. Frankie Collins also declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his eligibility.
The Sun Devils have added Louisville transfer Kamari Lands and JUCO guard Malachi Davis to the roster.
