The Arizona State Sun Devils got a bit of payback for last season’s Territorial Cup beatdown in Tucson, storming back in the second half and pulling away from the Arizona Wildcats 42-30 Saturday in Tempe.
With the win, the Devils (7-5, 6-3) claim second place in the Pac-12 South and will await their bowl destination, as well as the status of head coach Todd Graham who is reportedly set to be fired. It marks ASU’s sixth bowl birth the last seven years.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats fall to 7-5, 5-4. Arizona played most of the second half without star sophomore quarterback Khalil Tate who suffered an injury during the game and played only sparingly after halftime.
