It’s been a wild week for Arizona State Football.
It was no secret the Michigan Wolverines were in communication with Kenny Dillingham’s agent about the potential of him taking over their head coaching vacancy.
It’s also no secret how much the Valley means to Dillingham and his family:
Kenny Dillingham was asked about staying loyal to ASU.
He fell silent for 30 seconds and got emotional.
He was later asked about what brought out that emotion: “Just this place.” pic.twitter.com/lMb6tYUHAz

Still, the thought of Dillingham leaving for a program like Michigan struck the fear of God in many members of Sun Devil nation.
From what I’ve gathered, the threat of him leaving wasn’t as real as it seemed. Dillingham was doing was he was supposed to – negotiating a better deal for himself and his staff.
He did just that, signing a five-year contract extension with a $7.5 million annual salary and an assistant coaching salary pool of $11 million.
ASU Athletic Director Graham Rossini took time out to discuss the negotiations with Dillingham, conversations he’s had with Michael Crow and next steps.
Kenny Dillingham on the next steps of growing this program:
“We need to find one of these really rich people in this city to step up and stroke a check. I’ll do everything I can to make you the most famous person in this city.” pic.twitter.com/reOiqjDnls
