Gunner Cruz of Casteel high school is this weeks Valle Luna “Making a Differnce”, Athlete of the Week. Cruz does much more than just play sports for the Colts. He has a 4.6 GPA(10th in his class), is in National Honors Society, and much, much more on and off of campus.
Gunner delivered toys to a local burn center over Christmas break(see above). He has gone out to Ashland Ranch elementary to read to second graders
He went with the Casteel basketball team out to “Feed My Starving Children” It’s truly remarkable to see the number of events that Cruz has already participated in to make a difference in the community. Cruz is just a junior and is being recruited in football. He plays quarterback for the 3A State Champion Colts.
Gunner is a true two sport athlete for Casteel, playing on the basketball team as well.
