After another year of knocking on the postseason door, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Torey Lovullo decided to keep the ship rolling.

Arizona and Lovulo agreed to a 2-year contract renewal. Now general manager Mike Hazen and Lovullo are inked to deals that both will expire after the 2028 season.

In 10 seasons together, Hazen and Lovullo ahve produced only two posteason apperances (2017 and 2023). In two of the last three years, it has come down to less than two games.

The goal is simple: make the postseason and win a World Series in the valley. Anything short of that may mark the end of the road for both after the 2028 campaign.

Some say this is basically a one-year deal, since the CBA expires at the end of the year and many around baseball believe a full season lockout is on the table in 2027.

More to come after his press conference at 3:30ish…
