Seattle, Kansas City, and Las Vegas would all LOVE to have an NBA franchise. I bring this up because no one should ever feel as though a sports franchise would NEVER pull up stakes and leave town. Especially one that isn’t happy with their current facility. Last time I checked, we have three teams that are not satisfied with the place they presently call “home”. The one that worries me most is the Suns.
The Diamondbacks are suing Maricopa County over the ballpark, so we know their intentions(101-202 loop, Northeast side). The Coyotes stuck their flag in the ground in Tempe, though I didn’t see anyone with ASU or the City of Tempe standing arm in arm with them(believe it when I see it). That leaves the Suns.
Robert Sarver is on a heck of a run here. May 29th, 2010 was the last time the Suns were in a playoff game. He’s making money hand over fist even though the product put out on the court has been substandard for the better part of 7 years. Sarver is a banker, so the best deal on the table will win EVERY-TIME. Just remember, when(not if) Sarver starts to openly complain about the facility and the not getting the best deal. We saw what happened this past week in the NFL with the Chargers and Raiders. Don’t be naive and think that a city wouldn’t come after one of our three teams that aren’t happy. Especially the Suns…
Lonzo Ball and Lauri Markannen were the only players that mattered to me in Saturdays Arizona v UCLA matchup. It’s the third week of January, so the end result(Arizona won) didn’t mean much, if anything. It was a well-played game by both teams. Ball and Markannen showed again that they are sure-fire lottery picks this June(both will likely turn pro). For me, I saw two of the players that the Suns should be in position to draft at the end of June. Give me Ball…

Gil Tyree came into many of your homes for years and years while at KTVK. While in Phoenix, Gil was the best community TV Sportscaster. Now, Bruce Cooper and KPNX has taken that mantle, with their dedication to pro. college, AND high school sports.
