Three Dots…Love and Beck for MY Cardinals…

MY Cardinals are at least making an effort to give us something to talk about besides tanking for Arch Manning. 

It’s hard not to like the pick at running back, Jeremiyah Love, but was running back truly the biggest need, or was it the safe “best athlete available” line we hear every year when a player is taken at a position that doesn’t need immediate attention? Love is easy on the eyes. But will he be durable enough with an offensive line in front of him that played on roller skates last season? When the injuries start stacking up up front, is Love going to be beaten into a pulp? We shall see. It’s a great pick in terms of adding skill talent, which in turn will put butts in seats. But, I could easily make the argument that trading back from the third spot to acquire several extra picks would have been the more prudent choice. I can go either way, but since I’m tired of seeing the same old losing Cardinals, and don’t want to start talking 2027 Draft in early October as we do usually every year,  here’s hoping Love will keep us together(great song)

IF quarterback Carson Beck washes out, he will join the fraternity of Josh Rosen and Matt Leinart as players who came to Arizona with a reputation off the field more than on, and ended up being just above a footnote. Not shaking hands with Fenrando Mendoza after the National Championship Game isn’t a reason to bury a quarterback. He lost just six games in college at Georgia and Miami, Fla. He has everything to prove in the NFL space. A chip on a shoulder can be a good thing.

I know this coming Cardinals season will be much more interesting with Love and Beck on the roster. If that was the owner’s intent, he has succeeded. The thing is, as we ALL KNOW, these are the Cardinals. One of the bottom feeders of the NFL. Butts in seats and buzz on social media are no way to build a winning franchise. We are assuredly going to have a quarterback controversy or two along the way, but I’m not of the opinion that this Draft has canceled MY  Cardinals out of the Arch Manning sweepstakes in 2027…
