My in-box has been unusually busy over the last few weeks with fans wondering if Arizona State is going to play football games in Sun Devil Stadium this fall. Not to be rude…THE GAMES ON THE SCHEDULE ARE GOING TO BE PLAYED…

Jake Plummer is one of 75 finalists on this years College Football Hall of Fame ballot. There is no question in my mind that he will eventually get inducted. Having seen him play in person for his final two seasons at ASU, he should get in on the first try…
Marshall Faulk is also on the ballot. Having been part of the game day broadcast of Faulk at San Diego State, he should get in on the first ballot as well. Those were fun times…
Former Arizona high school basketball player Marvin Bagley tweeted out his final list of college schools on Thursday. I wish nothing but success for the immensely talented young man, but I can’t remember a more botched situation in Arizona high school sports than what we saw off the court last fall. A popular, well-liked, talented student at Corona Del Sol, to Hillcrest Prep, to California. All coming at the expense of his sophomore basketball season. Bagley was rated #1 in the country for his class before all of it went down, and is rated #1 today. What exactly was the point? Corona saw their state title-winning coach Sammy Duane up and resign(none more respected than Coach Duane). Parents, administrators, students, teammates all shook their heads over the Bagley debacle. Down the road, a documentary may be in order…

Todd Graham being linked to Baylor has been a talking point his week. Personally, I wouldn’t blame Graham if he were to pursue the job. From my view, this was as close as he came to addressing the situation.

Nothing wrong with his name being tossed around for a job in Texas. Easy to connect the dots. Win games this season and Graham’s name will be attached elsewhere. In my view, he’s already cleaned up a big mess here at Arizona State. He can now use that to his advantage when other jobs come open IF HE’S INTERESTED. Since the day Ray Anderson was hired as the athletic director there have been those who have wondered how long the two would be together. Live in the moment, expect the best, have great results and all sides will be happy. If Todd Graham left tomorrow for Baylor or any other job the program would continue, the games would be played and Ray Anderson would find a quality football coach. He’s really good at what he does…
