Suns should wait for Kevin Love, Todd Grahams best recruiting meal and more…

Arizona Sports News online

Pau Gasol, Rudy Gay, Thaddeus Young, and Zach Randolph have all been linked to the Phoenix Suns in the last five days. It’s no secret that the Suns have become the most intriguing team leading up to next weeks trade deadline.
Whether the Suns make a deal or not before the 20th doesn’t matter much to me. The combination of Ryan McDonough and Jeff Hornacek have built up enough cache in my mind, that if they decide to stand pat, I would have no complaints.
While there are those around the NBA who believe that Kevin Love is destined for the Lakers as a free agent in 2015, I would put most of the resources on the table to see if Love could be brought to Phoenix before that happens. Draft picks and cap space make it possible for the Suns to pick up the phone and call on just about any player in the league…

Arizona State vs Arizona on the basketball court this coming Friday night figures to be much more competitive than last month down in Tucson. I was at an recruiting wrap-up event with Graham Wednesday night at the Mission Palms and there were more “big cigars” on hand than what I remember the last couple of years…

One name that caught my eye on National Letter of Intent day came on the list of players that signed with Northern Arizona University. Jordan Morgan, who starred at Blue Ridge High School in the White Mtns. Head coach Jermone Souers couldn’t stop gushing about Morgan when we spoke on Thursdays show…

Count me in the camp of “liking” the Diamondbacks signing of Bronson Arroyo. Yes, he’s 37 years old, but I’d rather start the season with Archie Bradley at Triple-A than having him make the big jump. I am one of those who don’t believe in the futures of Trevor Cahill and Brandon McCarthy in the Diamondbacks rotation. Bradley will be here at some point this season…
