The Phoenix Suns have jumped into the offseason frenzy after acquiring power forward Miles Bridges according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
In exchange for Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick, the Suns are sending Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale and a 2033 unprotected first-round pick.
Allen spent 3 years with the Suns, while O’Neale was traded to Phoenix during the 2023-2024 season from Brooklyn.
Both Allen and O’Neale are coming off of a career high in points per game, but after faltering down the stretch, Phoenix decided it was time to make a major move in the 2026 offseason.
As for the newly acquired Sun, Phoenix has constantly been linked to Bridges, but nothing came to fruition after several talks between the two teams fell through.
But after nearly two years of trade rumors to Phoenix, Bridges has eventually landed in the Valley.
The veteran spent 7 years with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 15.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists throughout his career in the Queen City, where Bridges was selected 12th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers and immediately traded for Shai-Gilgeous Alexander.
The move now saves the Suns $20 million in tax and the Suns will be looking at 7 or 8 free agent shooting guards in free agency, according to John Gambodoro.
If there’s one thing to know about the Suns in the Mat Ishbia era, it’s that ownership is constantly looking to make a splash move.
NBA Free Agency officially starts on June 30 at 6 p.m. ET., where the Suns will remain active to fill up their roster.
