The Phoenix Suns draft started with Josh Jackson, a 6-foot-8 guard from Kansas, taken with the fourth overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Here is a breakdown of Jackson by the numbers after his one season as a Jayhawk.
Numbers Tell The Story:
13: The number of double-doubles Jackson tallied in his only year at Kansas. His 13 double-doubles are the most by a freshman in program history.
4: The total number of freshmen who have been named to the First Team All-Conference while playing at Kansas. Jackson became the fourth when he did so this season.
220: The number of field goals Jackson made during his lone year with the program, setting another freshman record.
37.8: Jackson’s 3-point percentage in college. He’s not a great shooter, but his defensive skills should prove helpful for the Suns.
9: The number of games in which Jackson led Kansas in scoring during the 2016-17 season.
258: Jackson tied a Kansas freshman record with 258 rebounds.
31: Jackson’s career high in points, which he scored against Texas Tech while adding 11 rebounds and four assists, too.
13: The number of games in which Jackson led the Jayhawks in rebounds during his freshman year.
16.3: Jackson averaged 16.3 points per game, the second-best scoring average for a freshman in program history.
572: The number of points Jackson scored last season, which ranks third among freshmen in program history.
2: The number of times Jackson was named Big 12 Player of the Week.
