Over a dozen now former Arizona State players put their skills on display Friday morning in Tempe in front of close to three dozen NFL personnel equipped with clip boards, stop watches and hours of research observing the professional hopefuls.
Quarterback Mike Bercovici impressed working with familiar targets DJ Foster, Devin Lucien and Gary Chambers. The big, athletic Chambers wowed scouts with his speed in individual drills and could be a legitimate special teams prospect next fall.
Guard Christian Westerman was present but didn’t go through individual drills after his solid showing at the NFL Combine last week.
Foster, the other Sun Devil who attended the Combine, unofficially ran around a 4.4 40-yard dash inside the ASU practice facility and also displayed great hands reeling in a couple one-handed catches. Foster was clocked at 4.57 in Indianapolis.
Offensive lineman Vi Teofilo drew a roar doing a jaw-dropping 43 reps in the mid-morning bench press session.
