It’s been a busy day for the transfer portal and the Arizona State Sun Devils, and not in a good way. As the May 1 deadline for players to enter the portal and still be eligible for the 2021 season, multiple Sun Devils have reportedly entered their names in the transfer portal.
Just a day after LV Bunkley-Shelton and Spencer Lovell entered the transfer portal, Sun Devil Source reported defensive tackle Jermayne Lole has entered his name in the portal to explore name, image and likeness opportunities. ASU just put together a NIL collective to help join the name, image and likeness race that will be up and running in May. Lole reportedly would like to stay in Tempe and the collective could help create opportunities for the talented defensive tackle.
Lole is coming off a 2021 season where he didn’t see the field due to a tricep injury. In ASU’s four-game 2020 season, he tallied 24 tackles, 5.0 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, two passes defended and a forced fumble.
Back-up center Ezra Dotson-Oyetade was a four-star prospect and All-American out of high school in the 2021 season. He redshirted in his only year in Tempe. Ben Scott took much of the first-team reps during spring ball, and the Sun Devils brought in former Iowa State lineman Joey Ramos as a transfer, who could play at tackle or center.
Shortly after it was reported Lole would enter the portal, Doug Haller reported Omar Norman-Lott would take the same path. Lole and Norman-Lott are the present and future of the interior defensive line.
Update: Norman-Lott is now actually in the portal.

Additionally, former Sun Devil linebacker and Freshman All-American Eric Gentry will remain in the Pac-12 as he transferred to USC.
It will be an interesting 48 hours to see how if more players enter the portal ahead of the May 1 deadline.
