It’s been a good couple weeks for Bobby Hurley and co. on the recruiting trail.
On Friday, they added their second four-star recruit to the 2024 class in power forward Sammie Yeanay.
Yeanay plays at Compass Prep in Chandler and chose the Sun Devils over finalists Florida, Utah, Washington State and Ohio. He stands at 6-foot-8, 230 pounds.
“Coach Hurley showed me a lot of things in the offense that can help me be successful,” Yeanay said on the 247Sports broadcast. “And the school, when it comes to academics and the business side, they have a lot of resources that are going to help me in the future, and I just love that.”
The No. 94 player in the class according to 247Sports joins small forward Amier Ali out of Canyon International Academy in Glendale and Chicago center Jaden Smith.
The Devils have continued to beef up their front court as they look to head to the Big 12.
“We talk about the best things in the Pac-12, and there’s a lot of positives about that league, the games you could play, the styles of play and West Coast basketball,” Hurley said on Thursday. “This is a little bit different, but I think the Big 12 has a chance based on their recent history and the schools that they’ve added to be one of the premier basketball leagues. It already is, and they’re adding new franchises to that, so I think it helps in recruiting certainly.”
Currently, the Sun Devils hold the No. 14 class in the country according to 247Sports.
