Sun Devil Football Adds Pair Of Impact Commit

The Arizona State football team added two impact players Monday night. Both come from the Pacific Northwest with one coming from the prep ranks and one from the transfer portal.

First, O’Dea High School safety Kyan McDonald announced his commitment to the Sun Devils on his instagram. McDonald is a 6-foot, 175-pound safety, and Brandon Huffman says he can help in the secondary at multiple positions: “McDonald is a versatile player who can line up at corner if needed, play nickel or stand at safety, where most schools project him to play. He has also been a weapon for the Irish as a receiver, where he can adjust to passes and stretch the field.”

McDonald is high school teammates with Arizona State signee and All-American running back Jason Brown Jr.

Shortly after that announcement, former Washington Husky offensive lineman Jalen Klemm made his commitment public.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle played in seven games for the program that made it to the College Football Playoff Championship game as a sophomore.

Previously, Klemm played for Kansas State in his freshman season and was an All-American coming out of high school.

The Sun Devil coaching staff made it a priority to add depth and talent along the offensive line this offseason, a group that was ravaged by injuries in 2023.

Kenny Dillingham and co. added four transfers in Klemm, Hawaii transfer Joshua Atkins, New Mexico transfer Shancco Matautia and former Arkansas Razorback Joey Sua. The Sun Devils also added four prep interior offensive lineman to their ranks.
