Summer Suns opened up Saturday in Vegas. I wanted to see what the three draft picks looked like in PHX gear. Let’s not kid each other. Vegas Summer League is filled with D-League and foreign bound players. Can’t take too much out of the sausage shop. As the great Eric Sorenson reminded me via text during Saturdays game “When it’s 195 degrees outside we watch Summer League”. Here is what stood out to me in the Suns 86-73 win over Portland.
Devin Booker-at 19 years old, he was easily the best player on the floor between the two teams. He finished with 28 points, 8 boards and 6 assists…
Dragan Bender-hard worker, like his game, long ways to go…
Marquese Chriss-some nice footwork in the low post on one play, further ways to go…
Tyler Ulis-nice stat line. 11pts. 7 assists and an impressive 5 rebounds. The logjam in the back-court is going to have be whittled down before the regular season starts. Can’t have all these guards on the roster. Ulis has speed. Can’t coach that…
The Suns will play Boston Sunday night in game two of the Summer League in Vegas.
