In 2019, Matt Hartford nearly claimed victory in the NHRA Pro Stock Division at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. The Scottsdale resident admitted self error in the mistakes that led to a loss in the final round of the 2019 Arizona Nationals.
Hartford was able to claim a victory at Houston in a quiet 2021 season and now eyes an opportunity to get back atop the podium in his home race.
While the 50-year-old isn’t a native of the valley, he claims Scottsdale as his home and is the President and CEO of Phoenix-based company, Total Seal Piston Rings. Hartford was eliminated in the first round in the season opener in Pomona’s Winter Nationals last weekend by a margin of 0.0342 seconds, approximately 10 feet at the finish line.
Hartford has all eyes set on earning a 2022 championship and raising the title at the end of the year.
Qualifying for the Arizona Nationals begins on Saturday with Eliminations and Final Rounds concluding the weekend on Sunday at Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler. Action can be found on FS1.
