Last year as sophomores, quarterback Kyle Allen and wide receiver Mark Andrews from Desert Mountain proved to be one of the state’s top pass-catch threats by year’s end. In total, Allen threw for 2,547 yards and 25 touchdowns. Andrews caught 58 of Allen’s passes for 1,058 yards and 10 scores.
The successful season put both on the recruiting radar and Desert Mountain head coach Tony Tabor says that 32 FBS schools have come to talk to him about the two talented juniors-to-be over the past three weeks.
According to Tabor, both have already started receiving scholarship offers.
Allen (6-1 190) was first offered by North Carolina, Oklahoma State and UCLA were quick to follow.
Andrews (6-5 220) was offered by both in-state schools first, followed by Oregon State, UCLA and Michigan.
Expect these two to have thirty plus offers by the time their senior season ends.
Allen has shown tremendous maturity for a young quarterback, leading a no-huddle offense with the poise and confidence of a seasoned vet.
Andrews is already one of the best looking prospects you can expect to see in person. Having just turned 16, expect Andrews to continue to grow and fill out and potentially be the nation’s top tight end prospect before it is all said and done.
