Linebacker is a massive position of need for Arizona State, and they got some help for next year’s squad at that position in San Diego State’s Zyrus Fiaseu.

Fiaseu led the Aztecs with 65 tackles last year. He also had 5.5 sacks and five passes defended. He was named the Aztecs’ MVP and defensive player of the year.
Fiaseu joined the Aztecs in 2021, where he redshirted his first season. In 2022, he played in 13 games with six starts and also saw time on special teams.
The Sun Devils were looking to find experience at the linebacker position. Tre Brown had exhausted his eligibility. Will Shaffer entered the transfer portal midseason and ended up at Utah State.
The Sun Devils return Caleb McCullough and Tate Romney, who both found consistent time on the field last year. Krew Jackson, K’Vion Thunderbird and Martell Hughes just completed their first years at Arizona State.
Arizona State also added Arkansas linebacker Jordan Crook through the portal last week. Fiaseu provides on-field experience and production to help bolster this position group.
