Saguaro’s Jaedon Matthews Commits to Georgia Tech

2024 three-star Saguaro running back Jaedon Matthews declared that he’s a “TECH-Man” on Saturday afternoon via Twitter.

“Everyone says you know when you know,” Matthews said. “That can’t be more true. I’ve known for some time. Just wanted it to be at the right time.”

The Yellow Jackets left an impression on Matthews during his unofficial visit in April and again on his official visit this weekend. He raved about his relationships with the coaching staff and the style of football.

“GT does a lot of things to keep the running back in the game by throwing and utilizing an outside zone scheme,” Matthews said. “Giving me an opportunity to showcase my unique skill set. The staff was so supportive but was very consistent with there approach. The team is surrounded by coaches that have been on the highest level of football and have won, which gives me an opportunity to succeed on the next level.”

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound running back contributed 92 carries, 27 receptions, 1,186 total yards and 11 touchdowns in his junior season.

Jaedon expanded on what makes Georgia Tech special below.

Matthews made his rounds in the spring, visiting Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Colorado and Wisconsin.

This season Matthew’s goals include breaking the rushing record and he hopes to leave a lasting impact on Saguaro football.
