The Arizona State Sun Devils now have six public commitments in 16 days, with Saguaro linebacker Connor Soelle committing to the Sun Devils on Wednesday.
Soelle leads one of the best defenses in the state, and potentially the country, and is coming off a junior season wear he had 132 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss and five interceptions. He held offers from the Sun Devils, Nevada, Army, New Mexico State, Vanderbilt and SMU.
Soelle joins his older brother, Kyle, as Sun Devil linebackers. In 2016, Kyle committed nearly two years to the day his younger brother did, along with fellow Saguaro players Corey Stephens and Jared Poplawski.
“I don’t think this commitment surprises anyone, since his brother is already there,” Sports360AZ recruiting expert Jason Jewell said. “Soelle has legit track speed and is over 200 pounds. He placed in the state track meet in the 100 meters and approached sub-11 second times. Speed is the name of the game and Soelle has it. He is ery productive player that projects as an outside linebacker. He has range and is physical in the run.”
Poplawski eventually flipped to Colorado.
This is the third in-state commitment that has been announced for the Sun Devils, joining Basha offensive tackle Roman DeWys and Corona del Sol wide receiver Ricky Pearsall Jr. For DeWys and Soelle, the Sun Devils were their first offers respectively.
