Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are tied to Sun Devil legend Anthony Robles.
Production on the former 3-time All-American wrestler’s life story,”Unstoppable”, has been on hold since June 2nd because of the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. Too bad, because the star power in the project should give Sun Devil fans something to look forward too once the film is released.
“We were thinking release maybe this holiday season or after the first of the year,” Robles business manager Gary Lewis told me by phone this past week. “Now, we don’t even know when we be back to filming”.
Jennifer Lopez plays Robles mother, Judy. Emmy-Award winning actor Jharrel Jerome will play Robles. Don Cheadle is in the film too. Artists Equity, co-founded by Affleck and Damon is behind this film. It’s the same group that gave us “Air” back in April. I truly terrific film on Nike.
Shooting for “Unstoppable” was scheduled to be wrapped up by late June, including a week of filming on the Arizona State campus. Five months of editing was to follow the competition of camera work.
“The movie is about 35-percent done”, said Lewis.
On one hand I understand the Diamondbacks not wanting to part with top pitching prospects, on the other its painfully obvious that without upgrading the pitching staff by Tuesday’s trade deadline, 2023 will go down as a close-but no cigar postseason. As they say, “close” only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades…
When will we have “Barbie” or “John Wick” night at the ballpark? Star Wars night has been done. Let’s stretch ourselves a little…
Where would the Pac-12 be today if Larry Scott had simply embraced and welcomed Texas and Oklahoma to the conference in 2011? Do you remember when the Big 12 was life-support just a few years ago? Here we are in late July and I just flipped over to the Pac-12 Arizona channel (yes, I actually have cable so I can watch it) and Jayden Daniels is at quarterback against Washington State. Is this the History Channel? Is this what gets fans excited, seeing shots of Herm Edwards? Amazing…
My teammate Claudia Collins has produced a must-see documentary. Family, Faith, and Football will debut on the site Monday night at 6pm. I’ve watched it about 999 times less than Claudia. Her attention to this project isn’t surprising. Great talent, teammate, and doc. Don’t miss it… https:/
Ever wonder how an LDS football player can take two years off to serve a mission & still succeed as a D1 football player?
I’ve put my heart into this doc for the last 2.5 years. This Monday, I finally get to share @DChristensen_12’s journey to college football with all of you! https://t.co/B8DXn7k9XW

Former Notre Dame Prep All-State offensive guard Cade Bennett trained under well-regarded Scott Peters(Arizona State). It’s paid off for Bennett, who is now viewed as one of the better guard prospects in the country. Bennett started college at Oklahoma State, before hitting the portal for San Diego State. in 2022 he allowed zero sacks in 367 passing opportunities with the Aztecs. He’s a preseason first-team all Mountain West selection. Another one who got away…
Great job by the Mesa Public School District to schedule girls flag football alongside of the boys football team for their media day this coming Friday in downtown Mesa. Give the girls the same opportunities as the boys…
