The Arizona State football team is in search of a new offensive coordinator.
On Thursday evening, it has been reported that Deputy Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator Mike Norvell is to be named the new head coach at Memphis.
This news was first brought to light by Geoff Calkins, a columnist for The Commercial Appeal in Memphis
Memphis made a hire. He is in town right now. Hearing it may be Mike Norvell, Az. State.

Soon after, it was confirmed by Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated.
One of the biggest areas I believe that this will impact ASU outside of the obvious with them finding someone to take over on offense, will be with recruiting. The 34 year old Norvell was very popular among prospects he has recruited since arriving in Tempe. He was the first person mentioned to me when interviewing Manny Wilkins, Kalen Ballage, Bryce Perkins and Tyler Whiley and even some of the elite level local prospects who ASU was in on but ultimately went elsewhere, had glowing things to say about him.
Some prospects for the upcoming 2016 class have already made sure to note that his commitment to the Sun Devils remains solid.
My decision for college won't change I'm a Sun Devil all the way I wish Coach Norvell success at Memphis💯

It should make for a very interesting Bowl season without Norvell running things and the direction the team decides to go from here. ASU finds out where they will be playing for the post season on Sunday.
