Purdy Shines at Tebow Event, Keenum and Cards?, Hotshots TV Number…

Former Perry high star quarterback Brock Purdy and 14 of his Iowa State football teammates traveled 45 minutes from their Ames, Iowa campus to take part in the Tim Tebow Foundation “Night to Shine” event last Friday night. “It was so cool on so many levels”, Purdy told me by phone Thursday night.

Night to Shine is a prom night experience for people with special needs, aged 14 and older.

“It was spectacular to see their faces all night, I’m going to do this event again and again”. Purdy’s hero on and off the field is Tebow. Purdy’s faith is as much a part of him as his ability to play football. What I like most about talking with him through the last 14 months that we’ve gotten to know one another, is he is still the same humble kid, with humble roots. He’s got some Tebow in him, both on and off the field…

Case Keenum in an Arizona Cardinals uniform? It all sounds good. Kliff Kingsbury was his quarterback coach in college at University of Houston. Keenum’s current team, the Denver Broncos, are adding Ravens castoff Joe Flacco. The Cardinals could do worse…

Arizona Hotshots drew a .2 on NFL Network in Phoenix for their opener. ANY rating point is a “Win” for the League in year-one. The ‘Shots should be 3-0 for their next home game in early March. Memphis and Salt Lake, their next two opponents, looked like the weaker teams after the first weekend…
