All Koa Peat does is win. Four state championships with Perry High School, multiple gold medals with Team USA. He was a part of Arizona’s first Final Four since 2001.
Now, he’ll look to bring that winning magic to a familiar spot.
The Mavericks selected Peat with the No. 30 overall pick, but it’s reported the Peat has been traded to Phoenix to play for the hometown Suns.
Peat was one of the most impressive players to ever navigate the Arizona prep scene with the Perry Pumas. He decided to stay home and play at Arizona, where he averaged 14.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in his lone season with the Wildcats. This past year, the Wildcats won a program-record 36 games.
He helped the ‘Cats have one of their best seasons in over 25 years. He joins Brayden Burries as a first round pick in this draft after the Wildcat guard was taken by Milwaukee with the No. 10 overall pick on Tuesday.
