After mutiple trips to the injured list for a AC joint injury in his right shoulder, Diamondback outfielder David Peralta will have season-ending surgery according to manager Torey Lovullo. He provided that update on the Burns and Gambo Show on Arizona Sports.
Peralta already made two trips to the IL in May and June before returning to the list on August 24th.
The Diamondback outfielder got off to a hot start, slashing .289/.353/476 in the first half of the season with 9 home runs and 44 RBI. After the All-Star breaks, Peralta was hindered to a .227/313/409 slash in 88 at-bats.
The Diamondbacks currently sit at 66-66 and are four games behind in the National League Wild Card hunt.
