On Friday, ASU director of player personnel Al Luginbill said it’s no secret the Sun Devils are behind in their 2019 recruiting and are working to catch up.
On Monday morning, they took a step in the right direction, earning a commitment from West Linn (Ore.) quarterback Ethan Long.

Long, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound signal-caller is the first ASU commit in the Herm Edwards era and was on-campus this past weekend.
With West Linn, he threw for 3,102 yards with 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The quarterback was offered by Utah but as a linebacker and he has wrestling in his background as well.
