Baseball has taken a big step in attempting to start up the 2020 season.
Monday, Major League owners approved a plan to send to the players union. There would be a series of changes to the structure of the game. Spring training would be held in each teams home market, with no preseason games. We may finally see the implementation of a computer calling balls and strikes with umpires still around the bases.
The schedule of games would be played by geographical regions. By example, the Diamondbacks could be in the same grouping as the Mariners, A’s. Angels, Giants, Dodgers, Astros, and Rockies, though that could still change. The postseason would run well into November.
MLB owners approve 50% revenue-sharing plan amid coronavirus pandemic with 82-game schedule, 14 playoff teams and a universal DH. They will begin negotiations Tuesday with the players union. https://t.co/BFDZOv3oyw
