Hey everyone, welcome to On The Rocks! I’m your trail guide, Claudia Collins. I’m taking you along for my adventures as I check hikes, waterfalls and other outdoor activities off of my Arizona bucket list. Today, we’re hiking Piestewa Peak Summit Trail thanks to Desert Financial Credit Union. This is the perfect hike for Veterans Day as the trail was named in memory of Lori Ann Piestewa, the first known Native American woman to die in combat in the US Military.
This trail is 2.3 miles long with 1,153 feet of elevation gain and it’s rated difficult.
