North Canyon’s Mr. Do it all

North Canyon may be off to a slow start this season. But that does not take away from the fact they have a very special player on their team.

Junior Bryant O’Georgia does it all for the Rattlers. He is the team’s leading receiver and one of the most dynamic weapons on the Rattlers offense. O’Georgia has Division I talent and hope to play receiver at the next level.

“My route running can be improved,” mentioned O’Georgia when asked how he is working to improve his game. “That’s what I feel I need to focus on the most.”

O’Georgia is also is a sure tackler as a defensive back. But last and certainly not least, he takes a lot of pride in his play on special teams where he returns kick-offs, blocks punts and is also the team’s punter.

“Special teams is a really big part of the game and I pride myself on my punting,” said O’Georgia. “I’ve been working real hard this year on my punting and it’s starting to pay off.”

Playing at this level, the North Canyon junior wants to be on the field as much as possible and wants to contribute in every facet of the game.

“In high school you just really want to play on all sides of the ball,” explained O’Georgia. “You don’t know how long you have in high school to play. It can be taken away like that. So I just try to get on both sides of the ball this year and try to make some plays.”

O’Georgia has received attention from major Division I schools already. Some of that attention has come from UCLA, Nebraska and Colorado. With his sights set on playing wide receiver at the next level, O’Georgia knows what will help in his decision once the offers come piling in.

“Just a team that can throw the ball I guess,” he said.

Bryant O’Georgia and his North Canyon Rattlers are eyeing there first win of 2012 in a matchup with Brophy this Friday.
