No statue for Fitz, yet. Sophie should’ve never left Phx, Ishbia bad week, more…

The 2026 Arizona Cardinals highlight video now has an opening.

Larry Fitzgerald handled his Hall of Fame induction speech much like his playing days. For him, a celebration was simply handing the ball back to the referee after crossing the goal line.  His words from the stage in Canton, Ohio were really no different. Heartfelt, without saying “look at me”. He expected it; we all expected it. Still, I loved how his fifteen-minute speech was short, sweet, and to the point. He handed the football to his son Devin, who has grown up before our eyes at Brophy Prep and now at Notre Dame. Hold off on the statue talk; there are more big moments in store for Fitz IMO…

Eyebrow-raising line: LA Chargers 11.5-point favorites over your hometown heroes in the season opener…

Will there be a quarterback controversy with the Cardinals before the season opener? I would certainly hope not, but you just never know here in Arizona. Seen and heard a lot of things that made no sense around the hometown pro football team over the last 33 years…

I will be drafting Trey McBride and Jeremiah Love on my fantasy team. I will not be taking the Cardinals defense…

A sports fan in 2000 rooted for the team from their hometown. A sports fan in 2026 roots for his/her gambling app of all games and fantasy football teams. Rooting for a team to simply win for the sake of being a fan is long, long, long gone. No matter what is obvious to the eye, the ability to make money outweighs being a fan, especially with a younger demo(18-34)…

Let’s give Mike LaFluer at least ONE regular game before gushing “what a great hire”…

Last week it was Billy Ray Smith, today Roger Craig. The terms CTE and Dementia will never disappear no matter how badly the League wants for it all to just go away…

Sophie Cunningham should’ve never left Phoenix, but I’m happy for her for success and hope one day she’s back with the Mercury…

WNBA can’t seem to get out of front page headlines for all the wrong reasons…

“Pardon the Interruption” is still on my daily watch list. PTI is smart and sharp, the gold standard of debate shows…

Should we be concerned with the financial week that Suns/Mercury owner Mat Ishbia had? In short, his main business (UWM Holdings Corp) fell by 35% on Thursday, with a $450+ million quarterly loss, and shareholders’ dividends were suspended. Other than that, Dillon Brooks’ new contract is just fine…

So you have never been to Camp Tontozona for Arizona State’s football camp? Doesn’t matter what team you are a fan of, the spectacle of a football field in the middle of a forest is worth the experience. Sounds like a “I’m too well to attend work day” should be in order…
