133rd strength of schedule and not beating a Power 5 program didn’t prevent Liberty from being placed by the College Football Committee in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl. The Flames, with a 13-0 record and the title winners of Conference USA, will face the Oregon Ducks on January 1st. This will be the Ducks’ fourth appearance in the game. “One of my favorite aspects of Bowl Season is hosting matchups that college football fans don’t see on a regular basis. This year’s Vrbo Fiesta Bowl will bring a blue chip program in Oregon against one of four undefeated teams in Liberty,” said Fiesta Bowl Executive Director and CEO Erik Moses. The Flames boast the number-one rushing attack in the nation.
