The tear down of the 2025 Diamondbacks began on Thursday evening with the trade of first baseman Josh Naylor to Seattle. Naylor goes to the Mariners in exchange for two minor league pitchers. Naylor hit .292 with 11 home runs and 59 runs batted in for Arizona and will be a free agent after the 2025 season.

Left-hander Brandyn Garcia and right-hander Ashton Izzi are coming back to Arizona in the deal. Both are top 30 prospects in the Seattle organization.
