It’s National Signing Day across the country and Arizona has no shortage of talented student-athletes putting pen to paper. Sports360AZ is tracking some of the biggest stories of the day as dozens of Arizona high school football players make their college careers official.

Ja’Kobi Lane, WR – USC
Lane was the No. 5 prospect in the state and the highest prospect left on the table heading into National Signing Day. There was some speculation that he might flip to ASU but he stayed true to his commitment from August.
Ja’Kobi had a career-high of 1,847 receiving yards, 144 catches and 26 touchdowns.

Lenox Lawson, SB/WR – ASU
1292 total rushing yards, 170 total carries and 13 touchdowns in his senior season. Lenox actually signed with ASU in Dec. but took today to celebrate and makes things official with his teammates.

Pinnacle High School
Two Pinnacle Pioneers signed their NLI’s on Wednesday afternoon. Many media members and college football fans were hoping to also see the #1 tight end in the country make his decision. While Duce Robinson still doesn’t have a timeline for his decision, his teammates Myles Libman and Coleson Arends brought in a big crowd for signing day.
Coleson and Myles both came to their final decisions over the last few days. Coleson took a visit to ASU just last week and Myles was still exploring his top four options at the beginning of this week. However, they knew all along they would make their decisions and sign together.

Joseph Allen, DB – ASU
Joseph Allen joins so many successful college athletes who choose to go on a mission before continuing their athletic career. Allen was named the Mike Haynes Defensive Back of the Year by the National Football Foundation Valley of the Sun Chapter. In his senior season he posted 106 total tackles, 5 tackles for loss and one interception. He maintained a 3.8 GPA while helping lead the Hawks to a 6A State Championship. He will go on his mission with his church and return to Arizona State University as a preferred walk-on.

Jackson Browning, LB – NAU
Jackson Browning may be one of the most underrated recruits of the 2023 class. In his senior season he posted 134 total tackles, 40 solo tackles, 2 caused fumbles, 24 QB hurries and 3.5 sacks.
Tyson Simmons, DL/Edge – Navy
Tyson signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday morning to continue his student-athlete career at Navy. Tyson committed to Navy in October and never looked back.
Perry High School
Perry High School held a massive signing ceremony on Wednesday morning in the auditorium. Jack Amer, Kyle Bartnik and Aiden Herring from the football team all put pen to paper to continue their football careers.

Nolan Clement, Edge – University of Arizona
Nolan Clement had UC Davis and UofA coming after him the hardest in the final weeks leading up to signing day.
“I’m definitely a leader on the field and I bring an energy that a lot of people can’t really bring,” Clement said. “You can sense it when I’m out there, I’m trying to hit someone and trying to get after it.”
Nolan committed to the Wildcats just a few days ahead of signing day on Jan. 28.

In his senior season, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound quarterback tallied 1,798 passing yards, 118 pass completions and 21 passing touchdowns. On Wednesday Drew signed his National Letter of Intent to Drake University.

Layton Duncan, WR – Colorado State University Pueblo
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver committed and signed with Colorado State University Pueblo on Wednesday morning. After back-to-back seasons plagued by injury, he never gave up on his dream to play college football.
“I see myself playing right away at some of those smaller schools. I know that I can play at the next level and maybe it’s not going to be Division I right away like I planned,” Duncan said a few weeks ahead of signing day.
