Miles Lockhart Breaks Down Commitment To The Ohio State University

Basha four-star cornerback Miles Lockhart announced his commitment to the Ohio State University on Thursday afternoon.

“It always felt like the right choice, really. Just a great family feeling there, I have great relationships. It’s better than any school I had, they recruited me the hardest. It’s just the school I can’t deny, they play for National Championships every year and put first-round draft picks out. It’s the best choice for me and my family.”

Throughout his varsity career at Basha he posted 72 solo tackles, 169 total tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss. The star football player is also a superior track athlete. In his junior track and field season, Miles ran an 11.30 100 and a 22.90 200. From Bear to Buckeye, he feels Basha has prepared him for the next level of football.

“They see me playing that nickel/corner position. Obviously, I’m not the biggest dude in the world or the tallest dude in the world but they see me playing that nickel and guarding the slot but also blitz off the edge. They see me playing more coverage, so a lot of stuff.”

Lockhart earned his offer from the Buckeyes following a camp he participated in last June. He says he has built strong relationships with coaching staff that have continued to develop over the last year.

“Me and coach Walt [Tim Walton] are real tight,” Miles said. “It’s been fun building that relationship. He’s a real funny guy and he’s from Georgia, just like my dad so we got to connect there.”

This season his priority is to continue to build up the Basha Bears. The only thing on Miles’ mind ahead of his college football career is winning another Open Division State Title.
